Geological Excursion in the Geopark territory of Mgoun. The Mgoun Geopark is located in the Central High Atlas in the province of Azilal. It is the highest and largest mountain range in Morocco (4070 m). It is a powerful massif that has preserved the uniqueness of its nature and personality and still holds immense geological potential. The M’Goun Geopark in Morocco was awarded the “Global Geopark” label by UNESCO in a ceremony held in Canada in September 2014. The Mgoun Geopark territory is rich in natural, geological, cultural, and architectural heritage, with a varied socio-economic development strategy, focusing on geotourism and sustainable tourism.
Tourist transportation from Marrakech to Bouguemz to discover the geological elements. Visit the natural bridge of Imi Nifri, an arch, and explore dinosaur footprints in Sidi Boukhelf and Ait Blal. Visit rock engravings in Tizi Ntirghist and pass through Ait Bouilli, a village known for its distinct red basalt and granite. Enjoy lunch and continue our journey towards Bouguemz, arrive at the guesthouse, and settle in. Take a 1-hour walk to visit Sidi Moussa, a marabout with a panoramic view of the valley.
Depart at 8:00 am towards Taghia, passing through Asmsouk, where the weekly market takes place, and Zauiat Ahansal. Discover natural heritage sites such as Kasabt and the highest mountains. Arrive at Taghia, have lunch at the guesthouse, and after a nap, take a stroll in the village. Engage in sports activities such as canyoning or climbing, or choose to explore the fields where corn, wheat, and organic vegetables are harvested. Enjoy the architectural structure of the village.
Depart at 8:00 am to visit the rock cathedral, followed by lunch. Visit the Ouakhouden waterfalls and spend the night at the guesthouse. Enjoy animated Berber songs and a delicious Mechoui dinner prepared by the best chef.
Depart at 9:00 am towards Marrakech, passing by Lake Bine Loudane. Have lunch at the Ouzoud waterfalls before returning to Marrakech.
